Homage by Georgia Paige Welch // Fall 2022
The inaugural show at Ample Art was an installation of screen prints superimposing an organic figure over layered, geometric planes. The figure is repurposed from quick contour ink drawings of a live model; the squares are derivative of Joseph Albers’ abstract investigations of color theory. Joined together, the vibrant silhouette seems to almost escape the two dimensional plane while the background alternates between advancing toward and receding from the viewer. In 3 different color schemes, each is printed by hand with permanent acrylic ink on archival paper in editions of 15. Available at PEEL Gallery.
